Bio
Before we get started, just let me say...

THIS IS NOT CLAY AIKEN'S LIVEJOURNAL.

(Sorry, just felt like being startlingly upfront today.)

This is a LiveJournal-based fanfiction-ish-parody-thing (I'm so concise) of Bridget Jones's Diary, which I've only gotten to read parts of and is so on my reading list for this summer.

At any rate, I'm told that every fandom has its BJD hackjob, and seeing as I've only found Raleigh's so far (in the form of the Cluppy Diaries, which you should go read RIGHT NOW), I decided I would take it upon myself to try and channel Clay. I've not seen anybody else doing a Clay journal outside of interactive RPG, so if you're doing one as well, I promise I didn't steal the idea from you, and presume we can peacefully coexist.

I took my personal inspiration from [info]valiumbitch (and his friend [info]ride_it), the NSYNC fandom's shot at Bridget. Those two journals are, in fact, gratuitously slashy. This one isn't. Mainly because Clay doesn't have any convenient highly-attractive bandmates to slash him with, and I'm not personally feeling the Clyan. Sorry, slash fans.

On to the most important part of this disclaimer (besides the first line there): I am not necessarily going for realism here, folks. I am not going to write Clay Aiken the potty-mouthed party animal or anything, but the kind of humor that makes this sort of experiment work WILL require stepping him significantly out of character now and then. Any comments about whether or not Clay would actually do or say something included in an entry will be publicly ridiculed and pointed at this disclaimer.

As far as comments in general: out-of-character comments to me, the writer, will not be replied to on LJ, although they will be wildly appreciated and possibly squealed over. In-character comments to Clay re: his entries will most likely not be answered. It depends on my and/or Clay's mood that day and, indeed, whether Clay has anything clever to reply with. So feel free to leave him your observations or questions; you may indeed get a reply, but don't count on it.

I'm choosing to leave my identity unattached to this. If you feel the need to tell me something, just leave it as a comment on an entry.

Above all else... this is fun. Game. Fiction. Enjoy it.
